With three Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League championships and two Memorial Cup titles in their first two decades, the Saint John Sea Dogs have plenty to celebrate in 2024-25.

The Sea Dogs unveiled their 20th anniversary logo on their website and social media channels on Monday, August 12, in preparation for their QMJHL regular season starting on September 20.

The logo features three Gilles-Courteau Trophy and two Memorial Cup silhouettes inside a blue circle and above the Roman numerals “XX” in white with a silver outline. That’s all contained within a black roundel with “SAINT JOHN SEA DOGS” written out around the top and the word “SEASONS” under the Roman numerals. The Sea Dogs’ primary logo — which hasn’t changed since they joined the QMJHL in 2005-06 — sits at the top of the roundel.

The anniversary logo was designed by Brian Gundell, a longtime friend of SportsLogos.net who has also worked on logos for the San Diego Padres, the Seattle Kraken, the ECHL’s Iowa Heartlanders and the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks.

Monday’s announcement didn’t specify if the logo would be used as a jersey patch or other applications.

In addition to the logo, the Sea Dogs are celebrating their anniversary with specialty games and events throughout the 2024-25 season. They’re also taking their show on the road, playing preseason games in St. Stephen and Fredericton, New Brunswick, and they’re working on “a special off-site regular season game against a classic rival.”

The Sea Dogs open their 2024-25 QMJHL regular season at home against their provincial rivals, the Moncton Wildcats, on Friday, September 20, before hosting the Halifax Mooseheads the next night.
